Course Information

This hands-on, half-day training session is designed to equip drivers and carrier personnel with the knowledge and skills to conduct comprehensive daily vehicle inspections (DVIRs). Participants will gain in-depth understanding of Ontario regulations, Schedule 1 requirements, defect identification, and reporting procedures. The course includes a practical tractor-trailer component to reinforce inspection techniques.

If you are a driver, a driver trainer, a supervisor or safety director, you need to understand the daily inspection regulations. In fact, all carrier personnel from operations to maintenance need to have a good understanding of these regulations. It’s going to affect how they perform their work. After attending this course, participants will understand how to properly inspect each of the 23 items listed on Schedule 1.

Register for Classroom Training

Based on Techni-Com’ s Practical Vehicle Inspection handbook, this course teaches drivers how to apply the rules, complete inspection reports and report defects in compliance with the National Safety Code, Standard 13. It utilizes the Ontario Trucking Association’s versions of Schedule 1 and Vehicle Inspection Reports. Once the course is complete, you can easily print wallet cards, certificates, and a complete training history.
